Tom Noonan is a musician, saxophonist and teacher hailing from Melbourne, Australia and currently living in Adelaide.
He graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts in 2012 with First Class Honours. He studied with Ian Whitehurst, Tim Wilson, Julien Wilson, Jamie Oehlers, Peter Petrucci and Phil Noy. He has also undertaken private tuition with David Ades and Will Vinson.
He has performed with artists including Australian Art Orchestra, Vince Jones, Reuben Kaye, Rizo, Ensemble Offspring, Bopstretch, Cannonball, Julian Simonsz, James Muller, Eugene Ball, Alexander Flood, and the Thomas Voss Big Band. He co-directed the Bennetts Lane Big Band in 2014-15. He has been an active member of The Gremilys, who perform every Wednesday night at the Grace Emily Hotel, since 2023. He has undertaken several tours of Australia, and performed at festivals including WOMADelaide, Melbourne International Jazz Festival and the Adelaide Fringe Festival. His first major creation, pas de deux, was released in 2018, and was longlisted in the Australian Music Prize.
Tom graduated from UniSA with a Masters of Teaching (Primary) in 2023, and currently works as a classroom music teacher. He actively composes and performs creative music in Adelaide.
